Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Goa on August 20, 2026, has notified the Goa Dental Commission Rules, 2026 under the National Dental Commission Act, 2023, superseding the Goa, Daman and Diu Dentist Rules, 1980. The Rules establish the framework for the Goa Dental Council, including its composition, appointment/election of members, disqualifications, tenure, vacancies and cessation of membership.

The Goa Dental Council will regulate professional conduct and ethics, handle complaints and disciplinary proceedings, maintain dental registers, determine applicable fees, advise the Government on dental and oral healthcare, and promote professional development through Continuing Dental Education (CDE)/CPD programmes. It is also responsible for maintaining professional and ethical standards in dental education and practice.

Compliance Impact: Dental professionals and dental institutions in Goa will be subject to the regulatory, ethical, registration and disciplinary framework of the Goa Dental Council. The Council is required to meet at least once every three months, with a quorum of one-third of its total members.

They shall come into force on August 20, 2026.
